smart’s launch of the smart roadster and smart roadster-coupé signaled a revival of classic, purist driving pleasure while also incorporating all the hallmark smart technological, safety and comfort solutions. The agile and dynamic two-seaters offer a unique driving experience.

The sporty, rear-wheel driven vehicles allow high lateral acceleration and therefore high cornering speeds. The combination of direct handling, excellent cornering performance and a high degree of comfort make it possible to experience the road in an intensive and direct way which barely any other vehicle in this class is able to offer. The smart roadster and roadster-coupé have the same sequential automated transmission as the smart fortwo coupé and fortwo cabrio – in further optimised form.

The sporty close transmission ratios have been adapted to the increased engine power and performance. In this context it has also been possible to further optimise the gear-change sequences of the transmission in automatic mode.
